Steve Finley’s name can be found throughout the MLB record book. At the time of his retirement in 2007 he was in the top 100 in the big league history in hits, total bases, and runs.
Defensively only two men had played more games in center field than the five-time Gold Glover. Going into the 2019 season he ranked fourth all time in putouts at his position and 19th in assists by a center fielder.
The multi-talented Finley is one of only 8 players in history to reach the 300 mark in both homer and steals.
His lifetime numbers include 2,548 hits, 304 homers, 1,443 runs scored, 1,167 RBI, and 320 stolen bases.
In the collection is the first Topps contract extension ever signed by the former All Star. Dated 6/5/1989, the contract is dated two months after his big league debut.
