From 1920-1941 Andy Cooper was one of the top southpaws in the Negro Leagues. Cooper was part of four championship teams during his 22-year playing career.
According to Baseball Reference, Cooper ranked in the top-10 in the league in pitchers’ WAR eight times and in wins nine times. The versatile hurler also played in the top-5 in the league 8 times. Cooper played in two East-West All Star Games.
The 6’2″ southpaw retired in 1939 with 118 wins. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.
He died more than six decades before his induction into the baseball Hall of Fame. Cooper’s autograph remains elusive for even the most advanced collectors.
